Tanner competes with MARS at Clarksville
Tanner and Garner-English Racing recently took on the touring MARS Super Late Model Series at Clarksville Speedway’s Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic on March 11th and 12th. The event, which was also available on live PPV at modFURY.com, presented a $3000 and $5000 payday to the winner of both nights along with the coveted plunger and toilet bowl.
The 96 crew were among several premiere drivers, including Dennis Erb, Ray Cook, and Brian Shirley. Tanner qualified 7th in his group on Friday night to start 7th in the heat. After having little luck in the race, he found himself fighting his way in the last chance qualifier, but would finish three cars short of making the main event.
Saturday night nearly mirrored Friday’s performance. After qualifying two positions better this time around, he would hustle to a sixth place finish in the heat and a top five in the consi. It would still not be enough to make a start in the feature.
Tanner’s next race will be a return to Clarksville on March 19th for a regular night.
